Frequently Asked Questions
-
What should I expect? Sessions are generally 55 minutes long. You will meet with your therapist at an agreed-upon park. The session will mirror a typical therapy session, with the added benefit of being in nature and including movement.

-
How do you maintain confidentiality during this treatment? Confidentiality becomes harder to guarantee whenever you venture into the public space. We have researched different trails and parks and will work with you to pick the right time of day, location, and trails that best match your comfort level.

-
What about people with physical disabilities? We have identified trails that are accessible. In addition, all of the areas we utilize have places to sit, and we have ranked them based on walking difficulty.

-
Is this safe? There are potential risks when you venture outdoors. We have taken steps to mitigate those risks. Each of our therapists is CPR and First Aid-trained. We require therapists to check the weather and walk trails before taking clients out. We only go to trails during daylight hours.

-
Is this an effective form of therapy? Our therapists are trained to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of their therapeutic approaches and interventions with clients. Throughout your therapeutic relationship, you and your therapist will partner in determining what is and is not working.
