Counseling and mental health services to children, adolescents, adults and families in ashland, va and the surrounding areas.
We provide individual, couples, group and family counseling at both of our office locations and via telehealth. We provide therapy for a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, grief, relationship and/or family conflicts, major life transitions or adjustments, mood disorders, trauma.

We utilize a variety of techniques and approaches to best fit our client's needs. We have specific training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, family conflicts, divorce, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and stress. We utilize expressive and creative techniques in a comfortable and safe environment. We believe in working collaboratively with our clients and families to tailor our approach to your unique strengths and needs.
ADULT COUNSELING SERVICES
Individual, family and couples/marriage counseling offered. Services provided are to address challenges with depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, work and/or life stress and transitions, and other emotional and behavioral concerns.
CHILDREN COUNSELING SERVICES
Play, expressive and sand tray therapies in addition to family sessions and parent training/education to help address issues with depression, anxiety, attention, behavior challenges, adjustment to major life changes, and other challenges faced by children, preteens and teens. Coordination of services between school and in-home providers is provided as well.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)EMDR employs a body-based technique called bilateral simulation during which a trained therapist will guide a client through through eye movements, tones, or taps in order to move a memory that has been incorrectly stored to a more functional part of the brain. Family TherapyFamily Therapy helps address challenges that are affecting the overall family such as major life transitions (divorce, death of a loved one or change in financial circumstances), mental health conditions that concern the entire family (depression, eating disorders, substance abuse) or everyday concerns such as problems with communication. Family therapy works to help the family function better and improve relationships by helping members gain skills in addressing challenges, gain understanding of one another, and increase collaboration between family members.

Co-ParentingCo-Parenting Services are designed to help divorced or separated parents set aside differences and anger in order to focus on the job of parenting their child in a healthy manner. Coparenting focuses on helping parents improve communication, reduce conflict and utilize parenting strategies.

Group TherapyGroup Therapy can be an effective form of treatment for specific mental health concerns and/or life stressors as well as a best fit for individuals. Therapy groups are offered in a comfortable setting and can be general or a specific topic.
